Amazon Bedrock now available in the Asia Pacific (Jakarta) Region

Beginning today, customers can use Amazon Bedrock in the Asia Pacific (Jakarta) region to easily build and scale generative AI applications using a variety of foundation models (FMs) as well as powerful tools to build generative AI applications.

Amazon CloudWatch Synthetics adds multi-browser support for application testing

Amazon CloudWatch Synthetics now enables customers to test and monitor web applications in Firefox, in addition to existing Chrome support. This enhancement helps customers ensure consistent functionality and performance across different browsers, making it easier to identify browser-specific issues before they impact end users.

With this launch, you can run the same canary script across Chrome and Firefox when using Playwright-based canaries or Puppeteer-based canaries. CloudWatch Synthetics automatically collects browser-specific performance metrics, success rates, and visual monitoring results while maintaining an aggregate view of overall application health. This helps development and operations teams quickly identify and resolve browser compatibility issues that could affect application reliability.

Multi-browser support is available in all commercial AWS Regions. To learn more about configuring multi-browser canaries, see the canary docs in the Amazon CloudWatch Synthetics User Guide.

Today, AWS announced the expansion of 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps dedicated connections with MACsec encryption capabilities at the existing AWS Direct Connect location in the Rack Centre LGS1 data center near Lagos, Nigeria. You can now establish private, direct network access to all public AWS Regions (except those in China), AWS GovCloud Regions, and AWS Local Zones from this location.

The Direct Connect service enables you to establish a private, physical network connection between AWS and your data center, office, or colocation environment. These private connections can provide a more consistent network experience than those made over the public internet.

Split Cost Allocation Data for Amazon EKS supports NVIDIA & AMD GPU, Trainium, and Inferentia-powered EC2 instances

Starting today, Split Cost Allocation Data now adds support for accelerated-computing workloads running in the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). The new feature in Split Cost Allocation Data for EKS allows customers to track the costs associated with accelerator-powered (Trainium, Inferentia, NVIDIA and AMD GPUs) container-level resources within their EKS clusters, in addition to the costs for CPU and Memory. This cost data is available in the AWS Cost and Usage Report, including CUR 2.0.

With this new capability, customers get greater visibility over their AI/ML cloud infrastructure expenses. Customers can now allocate application costs to individual business units and teams based on the CPU, memory and accelerator resource reservations of their containerized accelerated-computing workloads. New Split Cost Allocation Data customers can enable this feature in the AWS Billing and Cost Management console. This feature is automatically enabled for existing Split Cost Allocation Data customers. You can use the Containers Cost Allocation dashboard to visualize the costs in Amazon QuickSight and the CUR query library to query the costs using Amazon Athena.

Amazon Neptune Now Integrated with Zep to Power Long-Term Memory for GenAI Applications

Today, we’re announcing the integration of Amazon Neptune with Zep, an open-source memory server for LLM applications. Zep enables developers to persist, retrieve, and enrich user interaction history, providing long-term memory and context for AI agents. With this launch, customers can now use Neptune Database or Neptune Analytics as the underlying graph store and Amazon Open Search as the text-search store for Zep’s memory system, enabling graph-powered memory retrieval and reasoning.

This integration makes it easier to build LLM agents with long-term memory, context, and reasoning. Zep users can now store and query memory graphs at scale, unlocking multi-hop reasoning and hybrid retrieval across graph, vector, and keyword modalities. By combining Zep’s memory orchestration with Neptune’s graph-native knowledge representation, developers can build more personalized, context-aware, and intelligent LLM applications.

AWS Transform for VMware now helps you maintain business continuity during migrations by supporting Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) range modifications, allowing you to run workloads in both on-premises and AWS environments without IP conflicts. When adjusting VPC CIDRs, AWS Transform automatically updates all associated resources including subnets, security groups, routing tables, and target instances. You have flexible options for IP address management: maintain your source IP addresses on new target instances, use adjusted IP addresses that align with new VPC CIDRs, or opt for IP address assignment using Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).

AWS Deadline Cloud Now Supports Automating Job Attachments Downloads

AWS Deadline Cloud now supports automating job attachments output downloads with new functionality available in the Deadline Cloud client. AWS Deadline Cloud is a fully managed service that simplifies render management for teams creating computer-generated graphics and visual effects, for films, television and broadcasting, web content, and design.

The Deadline Cloud job attachments feature makes it easy to synchronize assets from the workstation where you make them to the workers in your render farm by uploading them to Amazon S3. It also automatically identifies any output files generated during task execution and stores them back to S3. The new Deadline Cloud client command downloads all outputs for completed jobs from a provided queue, and can be invoked on a schedule, using tools like cron or task scheduler, to automatically download the outputs from all jobs as they complete. The outputs are downloaded to the local paths specified during job creation for final review.

¿Cuándo fue la última vez que pensaron a fondo en una pantalla de inicio de sesión? Tal vez nunca lo hayan hecho. Y ese es el punto. Las mejores experiencias de autenticación deben sentirse fluidas, intuitivas y casi olvidables. Pero crear esa claridad invisible es cualquier cosa menos simple. Detrás de cada experiencia de inicio de sesión o registro sin complicaciones (SISU, por sus siglas en inglés) se esconde una enorme complejidad, en especial cuando se diseña para más de mil millones de usuarios de cuentas de Microsoft cada mes.

Lo que podría parecer «solo» una actualización visual de SISU es, de hecho, un rediseño fundamental de cómo las personas comienzan su recorrido con Microsoft. No se trata solo de una interfaz de usuario (UI, por sus siglas en inglés) más pulida; se trata de confianza, identidad y el poder silencioso del diseño centrado en el ser humano. Hemos transformado una de nuestras interacciones más críticas e invisibles en algo que se siente perfecto, seguro y, sobre todo, humano.

Comprender cómo funciona el cerebro humano es esencial. La investigación muestra que las personas son motivadas en gran medida por impulsos y emociones subconscientes. Los primeros segundos de una interacción dan forma a sus expectativas, confianza y percepción, mucho antes de que se revele el valor total de un producto. Una experiencia de inicio de sesión o registro confusa o frustrante puede perder usuarios incluso antes de comenzar.

Diseñar para humanos: simplificar la complejidad

Los flujos de SISU juegan un papel fundamental en la retención y satisfacción del usuario. Lejos de ser una mera formalidad, son puertas de entrada para dar forma a cómo los usuarios perciben nuestro ecosistema, y son experiencias fundamentales y horizontales que abarcan todos los productos y servicios de Microsoft. Cuando se diseñan bien, fomentan la confianza y muestran el valor de una cuenta de Microsoft.

El profundo deleite en el diseño surge cuando la funcionalidad, la confiabilidad, la facilidad de uso y el atractivo emocional se abordan de manera integral. No se trata solo de imágenes hermosas, sino de minimizar la fricción en cada paso del recorrido del usuario. Eso significa reducir los pasos hasta la finalización, reducir el costo de la información y disminuir el ruido innecesario.

Al repensar nuestras experiencias, analizamos a fondo los puntos débiles que enfrentaron nuestros usuarios. Las imágenes inconsistentes, las interfaces desordenadas, el cambio de contexto y los métodos de autenticación obsoletos fueron algunos aspectos que crearon frustración y confusión. Para crear una experiencia que se sintiera clara y cohesiva, tuvimos que ganarnos la confianza de nuestros usuarios desde el principio, un proceso formado en colaboración con nuestros socios de diseño de investigación.

La adopción de Fluent 2, el lenguaje de diseño moderno de Microsoft, brinda una experiencia visual y funcional cohesiva en todos los dispositivos al tiempo que mejora la accesibilidad para usuarios de todas las capacidades. Al eliminar los logotipos de los productos y los fondos personalizados, la interfaz se siente más limpia y menos molesta. La navegación coherente simplifica el movimiento del usuario y la recopilación de información esencial durante el registro ayuda a evitar problemas en el futuro. Se han eliminado los callejones sin salida y los confusos loopbacks, reemplazados por un viaje optimizado y enfocado. 

Un área importante de mejora ha sido la simplificación de flujos largos y complejos, como la configuración de cuentas secundarias. Lo que antes era confuso y lento ahora es intuitivo y familiar. Nuestros principios de diseño centrados en el ser humano se han aplicado en todo SISU, lo que garantiza una experiencia cohesiva y accesible en todos los servicios de Microsoft.

Crear una experiencia tranquila y centrada

Las personas gravitan por naturaleza hacia patrones familiares. Con esto en mente, hemos incorporado convenciones conocidas para aliviar la carga cognitiva y fomentar la confianza. El co-branding también juega un papel clave en esta evolución. El nuevo flujo de inicio de sesión armoniza el sistema de diseño Fluent de Microsoft con las identidades visuales únicas de productos como Xbox. Esta integración de colores y marcas específicos del producto no solo refuerza el reconocimiento, sino que también brinda una sensación de personalización y familiaridad, ya sea que los usuarios inicien sesión en una aplicación de productividad o en una plataforma de juegos.

Adoptar la autenticación sin contraseña para un futuro seguro

Como parte de la Iniciativa de Futuro Seguro (SFI, por sus siglas en inglés) de Microsoft, la experiencia SISU se ha rediseñado con la autenticación sin contraseña en su núcleo. Los nuevos registros comienzan con una simple verificación de código; no se requieren contraseñas. Los métodos modernos, como las claves de acceso, ofrecen una seguridad más sólida con menos fricción. 

Hemos simplificado los flujos de inicio de sesión y registro para que estas opciones más rápidas y seguras sean predeterminadas. Los usuarios ahora pueden eliminar las contraseñas por completo y confiar en alternativas más seguras. Diseñado para ser sin contraseña de forma predeterminada, la experiencia hace que la actualización a una protección más sólida sea fácil e intuitiva.

También hemos reinventado la recuperación de cuentas. Lo que antes requería múltiples pantallas y pasos ahora se puede completar con un solo clic, lo que hace que el proceso no solo sea más seguro, sino también más simple y fácil de usar.
